Cathy Stubington, Artistic Director
Cathy has been creating puppet theatre for over 25 years. She has written for family audiences for Runaway Moon Theatre: “Anouska and Rosa Go to Find the Sun” 2000 and “The Faerie Play” 2002 (with Lois Anderson), “The MAIZE Show” 2003 and “ENOUGH is ENOUGH” Community Shadow Play 2004 (with James F. Tait and Rosalind Williams): for the Caravan Farm Theatre “The Dragon’s Forge” 89&90, “Ghosts in the Garden” farmtour/field trip ‘94,” In the Time of Miracles” 92, “Dream” (with Z.Flores) 96: and for Picardi Marionette Theatre. She has designed for Runaway Moon, Caravan Farm Theatre, Kaleidoscope, Platypus Theatre and Picardi Marionette Theatre and performed in almost all of these productions as puppeteer/musician. Her documentary video “Something from Nothing” (Documenting Engagement) is shown extensively to illustrate the value of community-based arts practice. Cathy directs Popoleko Balkan Choir.
Cathy's Detailed Biography and Artist Statement
Zev Tiefenbach, General Manager
Zev Tiefenbach comes to us with over a decade of experience managing non-profit arts and community organizations. He founded "The Peoples' Potato", a vegan soup-kitchen out of Concordia that is still running many years later. He is presently a partner in a film production company "Artifact Films". Other experiences include organizing a youth project in B.C. through the U.N. Commission for the Rights of the Child, and giving workshops in Non-profit management and Board Development. Zev studied photography and creative writing at Concordia and is a graduate of Pearson College.
He brings to Runaway Moon a passion in the arts and in growing food, and a desire to be involved in and contribute to the community where he lives with his wife Mia and three small children.
